1:00 PM, September 13, 2022 – 2:00 PM, September 13, 2022 Virtual

Are you a medical student or a physician interested in community-based clinical research? The PhRMA Foundation hosted an informational webinar about the Robert A. Winn Diversity in Clinical Trials Award Program, which supports early-stage investigator physicians and medical students to build a pipeline of community-oriented clinical trialists of diverse backgrounds and transform the clinical research landscape. The program — supported by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the American Association for Cancer Research — features two awards:

  • Clinical Investigator Pathway Program — A summer service-learning externship designed to expose talented medical students (MD, DO, MD/PhD, DO/PhD) of diverse backgrounds to clinical research in community-based clinical research settings.
  • Career Development Award — A two-year program to support early-stage investigator physicians who are either underrepresented in medicine or have a demonstrated commitment to increasing diversity in clinical research in becoming independent clinical trial investigators engaged in advancing health equity through their research and mentoring.
